Hey everyone!!!
Wow. What a week! Went by way too fast, but it was definitely a good one!
So update on the weather: it's cool! Well, it's like 85-90 degrees,
which is super cool here and it feels so good. The wind is actually
cold? It's like I forgot what cold wind feels like. The wind before
was like a blow dryer.
So yesterday was interesting! It was Sunday, so we went to church and
did the normal studies and everything. Well my head started hurting a
little bit and I was like yeah whatever it has happened before it's
not bad. Gotta keep doing the work! Well, my head just started hurting
worse and worse. We had two lessons back to back in the Visitors
Center and by the second lesson I was like ok wow this is bad! And I
noticed that during the second lesson my vision went a little blurry.
I was still happy and talking and doing the best I could during this
whole time though!! But I hardly ever get headaches. Like ever! And so
maybe it really wasn't that bad and I'm just a wuss, but I thought it
was bad and when I got home I just went straight to bed. I was so done
😂
I went on exchanges with one of the zone leaders (because my companion
is a district leader, i need to go on exchanges with the zone
leaders). His name is Elder Kelly and he's from Ireland! He doesn't
have much of an accent though. He's pretty soft spoken. Well, this
exchange was interesting! Very interesting. Everything turned out
well, but weird things happened and I was definitely EXHAUSTED after
that day too 😂 ugh what an exhausting week it was.
My companion has started "My Plan", which is something that all
missionaries who are about to go home do. I've been out more than a
year. I'm basically there! So I decided to start it too. No I'm
totally kidding 😂😂 maybe that wasn't funny to you guys but I found
it hilarious. But yeah I just have to sit there for like an hour, once
a week, with him while he does it. So I usually just study Spanish.
Can't ever study it too much!!
Oh yeah, so something I've found out on my mission is that I really
like learning another language. I find it really fun and fun to study.
Idk why! I never thing English class was fun so I thought I wouldn't
ever like to learn another language. It's funny though because I can
explain more stuff about Spanish and the components of a sentence and
why things are the way they are, but I can't do that at all in
English! I just speak it and I say it the way I do because it sounds
good! That's all! But with Spanish I don't have that wonderful gift of
just "knowing because it sounds good". So I've studied it a lot! And I
think I can say about 10 words now! No jk hahaha I know like 12. Jk.
That wasn't funny to you guys I know but whatever. Fake laugh anyways.
Another thing I haven't mentioned!! So, since the majority of the
people I talk to are hispanics, I've had a lot of people who can't say
my name! I mean you can't blame them. My name is hard to pronounce and
I sometimes have a hard time pronouncing things in Spanish. So it's
totally valid! But I've gotten to the point of when people try to say
it I just nod my head and say yeah that's right! Even if it's not even
close. Because it's hard and I know they aren't going to remember it.
The majority of the people recognize my face, but not my name. I'm
just "Elder" 😂
Well that's all I got for this week!! It was interesting and we'll see
what the next one brings me!
Love you all!

Hola. What's good.
So how was your week?! Can't believe it's been another one! They're so
short now. Time goes by too fast. Maybe I'm just enjoying myself too
much!
It was another hard work week. Oh yeah! And we were going to receive a
new car (because our mission has a bunch of 2017 Toyota Corollas) but
that didn't work out. You know why? Cause the dumb machine (it's
called Tiwi) didn't work in the other car!!
Did I ever tell you guys about Tiwi? I think so. Or other missionaries
told you. But just in case, I'll give you a little run down. So, Tiwi
is a little machine that we have in the left corner of the windshield
in every car that tracks like everything. It gives us warnings if we
are speeding, if aren't wearing a seatbelt, if we go out of the
mission, if we drive recklessly, etc. it's a good thing though!! And
it's a SUPER good thing when your companion likes to drive a little
recklessly cause then Tiwi yells at him for it! And if we got a
certain amount of warnings and what not, we get driving privileges
taken away or whatever the consequence may be. Cause some companions
I've had drive really scary and I just sit there and pee myself a
little bit. I like to drive safe and if that means a little bit
slower, THEN SO BE IT. 😊
I can't remember if I told you guys last week, but even though I'm in
the same area, we're in a new district. President created a new
district with my companion and I, and then two more set of Hermanas.
It's a "relief society" 😂 but it's good though because our meetings
will be in Spanish and we're all serving in the same ward, so we'll be
able to talk about stuff like that during meetings too and yeah it'll
be great.
So this is my companions last transfer!!! It's weird "killing" someone
(mission terms- the companion of the missionary who is going home. We
say that the companion is "killing" the one going home. Can't say if
that's how it is everywhere? I mean I've only been to one mission
😂😂). But yeah, unlike other missionaries, Elder Johnson refuses to
be trunky 😂 I know missionaries that have like a year left and are
trunky as heck 😂😂😂 you go Elder Johnson. Oh yeah!! And I've been
working so hard on my Spanish!! I mean we're still in America so
there's white people too, but I've always tried to speak it with my
companion allllll the time and just in every moment I can. And I can
say, it's really paying off! I obviously don't have the benefits of
someone who's serving in Mexico or something, but it's definitely
possible to be able to speak it fluently here! And I'm working super
hard towards that. I'm almost there!!! Like literally soooo close.
But regarding this week, I really don't remember anything too
exciting. We honestly haven't had much success in the area, but that
doesn't stop us from working hard! It's he Lords fight. We just gotta
do what he asks.
Well, that's all I've got! Love you all and have a great week
