01/30/2017 - "Life is to be enjoyed, not hust endured." - Gordon B. Hinckley

Bueno

So, this week flew by guys! What the heck πŸ˜‚ so, this transfer has
been pretty bomb. We've been finding a lot and making a lot of
progress (compared to my other transfers). My favorite thing on my
mission is the awkward moments πŸ˜‚ you wouldn't think I said that huh?!
Oh my gosh they never end though. You always get in situations that
are awkward or embarrassing and I think the best way to deal with them
is LAUGH! Like this week my companion and I decided to walk up and
down some streets before we went to some other thing (I believe. Idk
these days are all the sameπŸ˜‚). We encountered multiple awkward
situations and I was literally just laughing for an hour straight πŸ˜‚
HAHAHAH ITS STILL FUNNY! πŸ˜‚
Anyways, we have been doing really well with setting up appointments.
Unfortunately, a little bit less than half of them fall through each
week πŸ˜’ that's ok, I'm not BITTER, K. πŸ˜‰ just kidding guys haha. Like
I just wanna talk about Jesus. Is that too much to ask?
We had an experience this week where a guy got angry with us when we
went up to him when he was outside of his house. We offered him help!!
This conversation was in Spanish, and I just laugh about it now
because he was saying thank you very much, but I'm busy so no. But he
said it in Spanish so it sounded much sassier and it's just funny πŸ˜‚

So, I got a quote for you all

"Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured" - Gordon B. Hinckley
So everyone, LEARN TO LAUGH. Enjoy life. I prefer to enjoy it with laughter.

01/23/2017 - Disappointing week because everyone cancelled

Hola
So, this week was literally the same. A little disappointing because
nobody wanted to talk and we had so many appointments not happen, and
getting rejected a lot. BUT, whatevs I'm still working. One thing I
love is that talking to people isn't so scary now. At first, just like
I expected, I almost peed myself to go up on the street and talk to
them! But now it's like eh I don't care BRING IT ON! And I was
especially scared because it was always in a different language. But
now it's just fun πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I don't understand everything of course though.
But you just learn to laugh at the situations where you're talking and
you don't understand what they're saying! Or, you literally just fake
it till you make it. That's what I do πŸ˜‚ I just act like I know what
they're saying hahahaha it's honestly hilarious sometimes! Sometimes
you encounter people and the conversation is really awkward or you say
something really stupid and it's SO FUNNY!! My companion and I just
walk away laughing. πŸ˜‚ like, yesterday we encountered some people that
were working on a pickup. We walked up said hi to them. One of the
guys just says "estamos trabajando" and my companion says, "oh,
pensamos que ustedes estaban teniendo una fiesta" πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ I was like...
Elder... obviously not πŸ˜‚ and we asked if they needed help. They said
no. We asked if they have ever talked with missionaries before, and
right when we said that a guy started using some tools, therefore,
they apparently didn't hear us well πŸ˜‚ cause the guy didn't even
answer our question. We were both like.. that's not what I asked. They
were obviously not interested though... so we just awkwardly walked
away and I just laughed about it all day πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ ahhh I love being a
missionary!

Have a wonderful week guys! Love you all. Be safe

01/16/2017 - Missions are Hard Guys, but so Rewarding

Wow what a week!! Missions are hard guys, I'm not going to lie. THEYRE
SO HARD! But so rewarding, remember that. This week went by sooo fast.
It's really fun to teach people now because I actually get what
they're saying. The Spanish is coming along really well. We went on
exchanges this past Thursday I believe and I was with Elder Austin
(English) and I was the one who had to take the lead because he
doesn't know how to say much! I was like... freak. Dang it. Hopefully
I know enough πŸ˜‚ it actually went really well! We talked to so many
people on the streets and I was able to talk to all of them and like
legit have a conversation! We had a lesson that day too and Elder
Austin prepared to ask the person to be baptized, in Spanish. He did
it and it was legit πŸ˜‚ it was a good day that day. When we were
walking around trying to talk to people, we were walking through a
trailer park and there were these guys on a house working. I was like,
Elder Austin I dare you to scream at them and talk to them. He looks
at me and he says, "I'll do anything once." And so he screams,
"HOOLLAAA" to the guys on top πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ it was funny because all he would
say is "hola" and then he'd stand there and look at me because he
can't say much than that πŸ˜‚ so I would have to continue the
conversation after that. But it was super funny!! Today for P Day we
went and hiked Flatiron. IT TAKES FOREVER. But it was fun. I'm totally
dead. It's like rock climbing, not just hiking πŸ˜‚ we started at 7:30 and got back at like 2. P day time is really precious as a missionary
so that took forever πŸ˜‚ still living though. My muscles are all shaky.
Oh, I also bought some weights to get JACKED because we can't go to
gyms anymore. Don't know why, but it's whatever. It's the Lords will!
Well, love you all! That was pretty much my week here in the great
state of Arizona! ¡CuΓdense!

01/09/2017 - Went Ice Skating and 60 degree Weather

Hey Everyone!!!

This week went by soooo fast! It's crazy. So my week went like this....

Monday was P day and we went ice skating. That's hard stuff!
Tuesday we had transfers and I got a new companion. He's white this
time, kind of sad. We still got a goal to speak Spanish all the time.
Wednesday - today we just did our missionary stuff and we didn't have
any success. Well, I guess that's not completely true. We had a few
lessons and we have a lot set up for this week to come! I am hoping to
get some success this week. Like some INSANE SUCCESS! We shall see.

This p day I took 2 naps. It felt amazing. Sleeping is SO GOOD GUYS.
I'm so ready to take on the week now πŸ˜‚

Oh also, at night in our apartments we have a lot of fun! I remember
seeing this myth busters thing were it's supposed to be a torture
method, where they tie you up and then slowly drip one from of water
on your forehead every few seconds or so. And so basically, Elder
Austin wanted to try it πŸ˜‚ so he let me do it!πŸ˜‚ it sounds really bad
but it was actually really funny. It didn't even do anything though. I
know we've done some other fun/funny stuff as well but I can't think
of any.

This weeks email was totally lame, but nothing major happened. Next
week will be better I promise!

Have a wonderful week everyone. Be safe in the snow, I'm here enjoying
60 degree weather πŸ˜‰ love you all!

01/02/2016 - New companion Elder Miller

Dec. 26 - today was another p day, and we went to Globe to see the snow!!!! I sent some pictures today so hopefully you guys saw them. There was actually a ton! It was insane. So fun too. We spent a lot of our time up there and traveling, but when we got back we just went shopping and emailed a little and ate something before we went right back to the wonderful work of the Lord! I had a wonderful Christmas guys. ,y testimony has grown immensely. Jesus Christ is our savior. He stoned for our sins. And everything is possible, because of him. Thanks to him, everyone!!

Sooo... I wrote down Dec. 26 and then I found out that prewriting emails is not allowed. So... I guess I'll be writing the big email on P Day instead πŸ™ƒ

So this week was TERRIBLE. I'll be honest. I was sick all week and it was rough cause trying to sleep didn't even feel good. Plus, nobody wanted to talk to us because it's the holidays (which I really don't blame them, cause I wouldn't either). But we still had to be out visiting and teaching people and so it was a rough time. Just about all of the appointments we did have got cancelled somehow.

Tomorrow we got transfers. Elder Familia will no longer be my companion πŸ˜” my new companion is Elder Miller, a fellow white person! I hope he's good at his Spanish cause I still need to work to do πŸ˜‚ I believe he's been out for a year or more.

Today was an awesome p day!!! Early in the morning we had zone sports, then after we got haircuts, and then another fun thing we did was that we went ice skating!!! Man it's rough πŸ˜‚ it hurts your feet so bad. But it was so fun! I wanted Elder Familia to do it so bad but he struggled sooooo much. He couldn't even stand on the skates. I feel so bad 😩 afterwards we went and ate at "Pete's fish and chips". I just got chicken strips there because Im not the biggest fan of seafood πŸ˜‚ but I let Elder Familia choose the place. It was solid! Totally don't need to eat dinner now πŸ˜‚

Well, that's all I got! The weeks are all the same, except p days.. that's about it.

Que tengan un buena semana. CuΓdense.
