07/31/17 - BEING TRANSFERRED

Hey everyone!!
I hope your week was great!!! Cause mine was!!

So maybe you've all already heard? ..... I'm being transferred!! Wow
WHOO hoo exciting yay
Yeah so my new area is Liahona 1st. And I'm in Liahona 4th rn. I'm not
moving too far 😂 I'm literally moving to the other side of Main
Street (my area right now touches Main Street, if that helps). So
yeah, my new area touches the area I'm currently in. It's crazy cause
I imagined getting transferred like 3+ hours away, like my brother
did! Nah. The most I'll be transferred is like 20-30 minutes away 😂😂
but, I love it. It makes changing not so hard! Cause you get really
attached to the ward and the area you're in. I mean, no matter where I
go it all looks the same anyways. Cactuses and rocks and wind that
feels like a blow dryer. Who would ask for more?!?!
My new companions name is Jack Johnson. Yup, THE Jake Johnson. Jk. Idk
who "the Jake Johnson" is either. But, it'll be fun! He's super
obedient and such a goof ball.
I like how transfers work for Spanish missionaries, because we all
know each other (because there aren't many of us). So, when we get
transferred (unless you're a trainer, then of course you wouldn't know
your companion) we're just like BRRUUHHH WHATS GOOOOOOD! Cause you
already know each other and it's not too awkward. BUT, then it gets
awkward a little bit later because you're ALWAYS with the person and
you're like oh my gosh what do I do this kid is weird and he smells
funny and I can't NOT not see him (mission rules). Jk I've never
thought any of those things. It's just always awkward for like the
first week when you get a new companion! Like always. It's just the
mission life! And then after that you treat each other like brothers
cause y'all like homies. Well, kinda. But yeah you guys get me.
Something that I've always really liked from a thing I read called,
"The Ricciardi Letter". It says in there that if you and your
companion aren't getting along, it's because you aren't working for
the same person. What the person meant by that was that, for example,
you're not both working to be obedient. Or, you both aren't working at
the same pace, or have the same goals. Like, if one companion is a
CHAMP at being obedient (Elder Johnson) and the other one is like wow
that's hard stuff and doesn't try as hard, they aren't going to get
along! They're just going to end up fighting. BUT, if they are both
working towards the same thing, like obedience, they're going to love
each other! You're gonna be like, "Elder, you did so good at seeing me
at all times today!!!" And the other one will be like, "no ELDER YOU
did so good!!" And then they'll like chest bump or something cause
they bros. but if not, well.. then you're gonna have a super rough
6-12-18 weeks!
Another thing I've learned is.... why NOT be happy? Like ugh. Being
sad is hard. Being mad is like a lot of energy that I don't want to
put forth. But being HAPPY is so fun! It makes life so much more
enjoyable. Like, duh?
So everyone, literally just enjoy what you're doing. If you hate
school and you're just pushing through it (like I always did), well,
change that! Find something you like! Or if that's not possible, just
be happy about what you're doing! You can always make something fun,
even if it's super dreadful. I've had to do stuff that I've really
hated, but with a better attitude and a determination just to have fun
no matter what, they will turn out to be some really funny and fun
experiences! Your attitude is everything. Don't be a Debby Downer.
I've always loved laughing. It's literally my favorite thing! Laughter.
So everyone, also learn to laugh at things! It makes things better.
For example, maybe you just embarrassed yourself hardcore. Well, JUST
LAUGH! Don't take it to heart. Be like, DANG THAT WAS SUPER
EMBARRASSING HAHAHAHAHA HA JAJAJJSHAHAJSHAHDJ. Oh well. Happens to
everyone! It'll be a great story later. I feel like a lot of times
people are like. "Oh my gosh that was super embarrassing I'm gonna go
cry and never talk to anyone every again because they're all talking
about it and about me oh my goodness". If that was me (and I'm just
weird), I'd go laugh at myself too. Because those people who aren't
making fun of you are only going to like making fun of you, if you
give them a negative reaction. Don't give them the reaction they want!
Be you and be proud!

Okay yeah this email is super long. I just went on and on and now that
I think about it, non of this makes sense! Oh well 😂 I'm not erasing
it.
I love you all! Have a great week and laugh and be happy and be
OBEDIENT because that's how you're truly going to be happy.

07/24/17 - SERVICE PROJECT

Hey everyone!!!

Wow, another week? What the weird. Time is going by too fast. Got to
enjoy every moment don't we!

Bueno, esta semana siento que no hicimos mucho.

Hicimos servicio para la recién conversa. ¡Pintamos su casa! Y
adivinen qué... había chinches en la casa. Y to tenía acondicionador
de aire. El tiempo entero yo sudaba MUCHO. Estaba escurriendo sudor.
