Well heeelllooooo everyone! It’s been another week. And it went by fast!!

This week was a really good one. Elder Gomez and I have been working
really hard and we were able to find 4 new investigators. It’s not
like A TON but I’m happy because we tried our best and talked to like
a billion people hahahaha. But only those four wanted to talk I guess!

This week we walked A LOT. I really understand what missionaries in
Mexico or places like that are feeling. We didn’t even walk so much
like those missionaries do but we did walk a lot. And in the 105
degree weather, I actually really enjoyed it! Why? Idk. But it was
still fun. The reason we walked was because we were low on miles (for
those of you who don’t know, we have a limit of how many miles we can
go a month. In our area it’s 1100.) and so we decided to walk! We
probably could’ve rode bikes, but when walking it’s easier to talk to
people. And you don’t look like an idiot with that ugly helmet on.
1100 probably seems like a lot, but we have a big area and it’s super
easy to just use up a ton of miles in a day.

We have an investigator that’s named Adela and she is awesome! It’s a
little hard to have lessons with her sometimes because she lives alone
with her children and we always need a third male to go inside. BUT,
when we teach, it’s always amazing. She reads everyday and prays. She
told us one day after we asked her if she has had time to keep reading
and praying she was like, “uhh a little bit. This morning I read two
chapters..” and we just about jumped off the walls! We told her that
that’s more than a little hahahaha. Nobody that I’ve taught has read
that much in one day. So that’s why I was excited. Maybe not the most
exciting story for you guys but

We also have a family, that is the Cabrera Family. And the kids in
that family are awesome!! They come to church almost every week, read,
pray. And when they come to church they love it. Like the first week
they came, the littlest one whose name is Diego offered to say the
closing prayer in his primary class. We were super impressed. And so
we have gone to primary with them just to see how they were doing and
to make sure it was going well and they just love it. Diego goes crazy
with those primary songs 😂 They are so close to baptism. I’ll keep
y’all posted on that 😁

We also went to the temple this morning, which is why our p day was
changed. And it was amazing! It’s such a beautiful place to find peace
and just be happy cause it’s so awesome! I felt very peaceful in the
temple this morning. It is the house of the Lord and the work that is
done inside is real. Go to the temple more often everyone!

Love you all

Hey everyone!!

This week was great! It went by sooooo fast I almost don’t remember
what I did. But I know I enjoyed the work!

So now it’s been 2 weeks with Elder Gomez and he is awesome!! We get
along super well. I feel like I get along better with my Hispanic
companions that the Caucasian ones 😂
He is super good at teaching and I can see that he works by the
spirit. It also helps that he already speaks Spanish 😂

One cool this that happened this week was that on Saturday we were on
exchanges. I was with Elder Sorensen (our district leader) and Elder
Sorensen had served in my area before I got into it. So he knows
everyone and a lot of the former investigators and all that stuff. So,
we had a lesson with a guy named Raul. Elder Sorensen had found him
and had tried to reach him and Raul just wasn’t having it. Well, when
I was with Elder Ghormley (my last companion) we had found Raul again.
And we started teaching him. When Elder Gomez became my companion we
had a first lesson with him and he seemed to like it. With Elder
Sorensen on Saturday we had another lesson with Raul and  it was such
a good lesson! He was so interested and he had kept his commitments
from the last lesson and he said the closing prayer after the lesson.
Oh and in the first lesson he taught him,  the gospel library app was
mentioned and I was just like alright yeah he’s not going to download
it. So I just focused on the Book of Mormon and all the other stuff
necessary. Well, the guy downloaded the app!! Hahahaha after the
lesson we had on Saturday he mentioned some videos on some app and I
was like ???? And then I realized that he was talking about the gospel
library app! I was like wow. I’m so happy 😂

Yesterday in church was just super fun because I was laughing the
whole time. I’ll just tell you about one experience. So, we were in
gospel principles class and there was this guy there that had stopped
going to church for awhile and one member was helping him come back.
Well, I sat next to him. And I was trying to help him find what lesson
we were on in the gospel library app. And I was telling him where to
go and I had to repeat myself a couple of times cause he looked
confused and then he turns to me and says “no hablo español”(i don’t
speak Spanish) and he said that to me.... in Spanish!! And so I just
told him what lesson number it was in English. And then later on in
the class he starts commenting in perfect Spanish. And he sounds like
he doesn’t speak English. And one time after he commented he turns to
me and says “¿estuvo bueno mi español?” (Was my Spanish good?) and
again.. he said it in Spanish! And I was just soooo confused during
the whole lesson I was like what is the guy doing he’s messing with me
😂 he told me all of this with a straight face. He didn’t seem like he
was joking. HAHAHA it’s funny just thinking about it

Well that was my week! Hope you enjoy the stories. Love you all!! Be
happy and try to have energy cause I sure don’t got that

Hey everyone!!!

This week was super exhausting!!! But super awesome. My companion (my
son lol) is awesome! So update: he was born in Guatemala and then
moved to Chiapas, Mexico and then moved to Florida for like 4-5 years.
So he speaks English super well, but he’s just a little self conscious
about it because of his accent. Understandable, understandable.

We just had a lot of meetings and planning to do. And we had to set up
his Facebook and all that. So we spent some time doing that and at the
end of the week I was exhausted. Like yesterday I woke up and I said
my prayer and I was so tired that when I stood up I was all dizzy
hahahah crazy. But I was fine after that! Just kind of funny.

Elder Gomez is super awesome. And I’ve noticed that he is super
humble. He is and will be a great missionary.
I’ve just been blessed with missionaries who speak Spanish. The two
elders I’ve trained are hispanics and it’s a blessing not having to
teach them Spanish haha. Cause I remember when I was new and it was
the worst trying to learn it!

But I’m not sick anymore! Life is good. No more coughing, I’m sleeping
well, and I’m working hard!

This week was boring to hear about. But that’s how life is going!! I’m
good and life is good. Love you all
