6-25-2018

Well, it’s been another week. The time is literally going by so fast
and I love it but hate it at the same time. The mission really does go
by fast and you have to enjoy every moment. And you have to push
through the times you don’t feel like working because you’ll regret it
in the end if you don’t work your hardest. So, for anyone on a misiΓ³n
or thinking about going or about to go, just work hard. Don’t waste
time. You’ll be so proud of yourself at the end too 😁

So this week was good! We still have people that are close to baptism
(I say that because I’ve been in a number of cases where they back out
or just drop off the face of the earth). Teresa Moreno will for sure
be baptized on the 14 of June. Some ex misioneros are going to come
for her baptism (I served with them for a long time). They already got
the plane tickets and so it’s basically a locked in deal. We always
have very good lessons with her. And yesterday she came to church and
honestly we didn’t know she was there until the second hour πŸ˜‚ we got
there 15 minutes early like we should have and looked around for her
and other investigators before sacrament meeting started and we didn’t
see her. And then the second hour before we walked into class, we saw
her walking out the the chapel and we were like what the heck we
didn’t even see you!! We were so happy that she was there.

we also had an investigator go who we did not think was going to go!!
We have been working with him for a while and he just didn’t seem to
want to promise us that he was going to go to church. Well, in the
morning we reminded him about church and he showed up!!! He showed up
a little late and so we were surprised when we saw him walk into the
chapel. He stayed for all three hours and he liked it. And then after
church we had a lesson with him and he said the closing prayer. And
his prayer was awesome and I know God was so happy to hear it πŸ˜‚ in
part of it he was like, “God.. I don’t know what happened.. but I went
to church today. And i liked it!” He told us that in the morning
before church he was in McDonalds and then decided to go to church πŸ˜‚
so he broke the sabbath day, but God got to him just in time. I was so
happy when he came like you have no idea!!!

We are really seeing some success with the people we’re teaching, but
having a hard time finding new people. We are working hard with
members to give us referrals and have lessons with their friends, and
that has worked out a bit. We have come across a lot of people, but
they are all rejecting us!! But hey, we are doing are part. And that’s
what I should base my success on. Doing what the lord asks, my
attitude, and determination to share the gospel. 😁😁

Well that was my week. I’m exhausted and happy. Hope you all have a great week
love you

Hey everyone!!

It was a good week! Like usual. Just work and more work.
We aren’t having as much success with finding people, but we are
having some people progress towards baptism.

We have Adela Acevedo who is suppppppeer close to baptism. We have
been trying to set a baptismal date and she’s been kind of shaky with
that just because she wants to be sure she is 100% sure and that’s
like definitely understandable. Like duh. But she is totally ready!
She goes to church every Sunday and she accepts everything super
easily. She knows it’s true and will be baptized. I’m super happy for
her cause she has changed so much. Thanks to members who helped us out
with her! They introduced us to her. So members, do your work!!! It’s
the only way I’ve seen success (personally) in my mission.

And then Teresa Moreno has a baptismal date for July 14 and she is so
ready!!! She’s super sweet and knows that this is what she wants. She
knows she needs to be the example for her kids and her grandkids. So
be waiting for that!!

And other than that we just did missionary work. We walked, drove,
talked to people who didn’t want to talk, and visited members to find
referrals. It really was a good week though 😊
Love you all! Have a great week

Wow, the weeks go by so fast what the heck!!!! And every week is a good one.

This week we just worked hard!! We are having some success here. We
will have baptisms soon because we were promised that by an
investigator. She just doesn’t want to set a date yet. But hey, it’ll
get there no worries.
So much more success comes from working with members and their
friends. So members, invite your friends to activities and eventually
to take lessons from the missionaries. We want to baptize!!!

Well, all I really remember from this week was when I had to run away
from the HUGE DOG THAT GOT LOOSE. So, there’s this trailer park in our
area where a lot of Hispanics live. So it’s great for us and our
work!! They all have dogs. Like literally ever dang person has a dog.
The majority of them a little chihuahuas. I hate those dogs. They’re
more scary than the big ones. And well, on Saturday we went over there
at night. And for some reason the owners of this HUGE DOG had left
their gate open and it got out. The gate is still open by the way. I
had always heard this dog (and there was another one but it didn’t
want to leave like the other one did) and I was like alright well
luckily it’s pinned up. WELL, it got out!! And we saw it in one area
and it was behind a fence and so I was like HA you can’t get me and i
just stared at it cause it was barking at me and i was like dude stop
that’s annoying what good does that do? (Because when it was behind
that fence that I said, I didn’t realize that it wasn’t actually where
that dog lived and that it could get out just like it got in) and so
we started walking away and it walks right out and I was like what the
heck I thought it was locked up behind that fence πŸ˜‚ but at time it
just stayed where it was and didn’t do anything. Well, we went around
to another area of the trailer park and there it was!! And this time
is was out in the road and barking at us and getting closer so I just
turned around and ran cause I was like NOPE and my companion is the
one that is scared of big dogs (cause in Mexico they’re meant to
protect, I guess). And he was like “don’t run!!” And I was like BOY IM
RUNNIN’ AWAY WHAT CHU TALKIN’ BOUT TELLING ME NOT TO RUN and I turned
around and it stopped chasing me. I only ran like 10 feet πŸ˜‚ but yeah
so that’s how I almost died this week and saved my own life. The end.

I’ve also noticed that they past two weeks we’ve just kind of been
rejected a lot. Ok no not kind of. We have been rejected a lot! We are
trying to find new people to teach and they’re all like no thanks and
I’m like awe.
Oh and we got a door slammed in our faces this week! Hahahaha it was
funny I laughed while walking away. So we were going to visit a former
investigator and after we knocked on the door I noticed they had a “no
soliciting” sign and I was like oooooooh they’re gonna be these kinds
of people ok I hope they aren’t rude I just want to share happiness.
But like we had already knocked we couldn’t back out!! And so this
guys opens the door and screams NO and slams it and I was like alright
that was fast and easy thanks πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
That stuff usually doesn’t happen here so that’s why I had to tell you
cause it was funny to me
