06/19/17 - IDAHOME ELDERS HEPWORTH AND GULL

guuuuyyyyssss.

HERE COMES THE 120 DEGREE WEATHER!!!

So yesterday it was like 113 and everyoonnnee keeps telling me that
it's going to be like 118 today and basically for the rest of the
summer. My thoughts?? How do people live here. I mean, I guess it
feels good when you walk outside and it feels like you're opening the
oven door and you can feel your skin shrivel up and sizzle and you
instantly feel like you're gonna die??? Hahaha but I do the work still
and I love it here. But, this heat just makes me more and more excited
for the winter!! 60 degree weather doesn't sound so bad rn! And now
90-95 degrees feels good outside. Like really good.

This week I just had many experiences to learn patience πŸ˜‚ I'm not
going to go into details, but yeah patience was tested by people. So,
this one Elder told me something so true! We were in the stake center,
in the computer room thing, making progress reports, and we mentioned
that we had been praying a lot for patience. And he was like, "you've
been praying a lot for patience?" And I was like, "yeah" and he said,
"well that just means that you're going to be given something to be
patient about!" And I was like... dang it. You're right. What a smart
man. So both my companion and I have been working together to have
patience for people and things. Just so many things have happened to
us as a companionship! Like I don't even know why! But I've learned to
laugh about it, and more often that not, i laugh until I'm about to
pee myself because it is truly hilarious. Especially my companions
reactions πŸ˜‚ he was like, why are all these bad things happening to
me? I had a good life back home. I was smart, I was a good driver,
etc. All I've learned on my mission are things NOT to do. Like, "well,
now I know never to do that again." But really the truthfulness of
that!! So many things happen where it's jut like.. well... that was
embarrassing! Or, that was stupid! For sure ain't gonna do that again!
And then you just laugh about it and move on. And then laugh about it
a while later when you remember it, and then laugh again two weeks
later cause it's still just as funny as it was when it happened!

A funny experience that happened this week was the following:
So, I can't remember what day it was this week. I wanna say it was
like Thursday or something. But anyways so we had a lesson with one of
our investigators (the one with a baptismal date). So we went to her
house (information: her front door has a huge window on it, so you can
see through it into the kitchen). So, we go and knock on her door and
it didn't seem like anybody was home. We knocked three times, like
usual, and she didn't answer. So I started walking away and right when
I walked away, my companion was like, "ella estΓ‘, ella estΓ‘" because
she started walking up to the door. Well, she looked sick and wasn't
feel too well and was still in her pajamas (more information: she has
this stupid dog that's name is Brownie and he's always hyper and jumps
on my very nice pants that I don't want to get dirty and is super
annoying. So, that dog was inside and you could see it jumping on the
door trying to see us and all hyper and barking and what not). So,
this investigator came to the door and was trying to open the door but
she didn't want her dog to get out and the dog was all hyper, so she
just gave up (mind: she was all depressed or sick or something). And
so she gave up and started talking to us through the door and I COULD
NOT HEAR A WORD SHE SAID! And I almost peed myself because she looked
like a mime. She just kept talking and looked all sad, and, looked
like a mime cause I couldn't hear a word. And I was trying SO HARD not
to laugh. I had to turn around and pretend I was looking at a tree or
something, and then I turned around and covered my face with a book
because I couldn't hold it back!! πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚ kind of rude. Apologies. But
it was hilarious. Just had to be there!
